I have a bad (and good) feeling about this

Chapter 12 of the hit series had me put on my tin foil hat and get into conspiracy theories. There’s a lot looming in the distance for the remainder of the season, and I’m both excited and very nervous

The Mandalorian rejoins old allies for a new mission

A phenomenal episode overall. Great pacing, great humor, and a joy overall to watch. The action sequences were really well shot, with good use of far camera angles and close to your face ones, blended with heart-racing music that made you lean on the edge of your seat.

The return of Carl Weathers and Gina Carano was a delight to have, as their chemistry with Mando is always a delight to have. The impact they had on Nevaro was a nice change of setting, as we get a glimpse into a thriving location chalk full of life and different Star Wars species.

Also, Baby Yoda in class. No words to describe the adorableness.

In terms of the lore of this episode, there’s a lot to take in. Whatever Moff Gideon is up to, it’s deeply rooted to Baby Yoda. Is he trying to clone Force-sensitives? Make a new era of Dark side users? Or perhaps it has more to do with Baby Yoda’s rare sub-species, a species we still know little about.

Chapter 12 does a good job setting up some seriously big things to come. Moff Gideon clearly has something up his sleeve (we see what looks like humanoid robots on the walls of his ship at the end). The mystery and foreshadowing is daunting and exciting!

I also got Jango Fett vibes with the way the Mando fought in this episode. Lots of quick firing and utilization of his jet pack. It was really cool to watch. The episode did a nice job setting up the return of a fully functioning Razor Crest by having us watch the lava chase scene with the others. Speaking of which, the tracking system and Weathers fighting in the turrent was almost identical to Han Solo’s Millenium Falcon. Nice touch.

Speaking of old times, we get a glimpse into Carano’s character with her dialogue with the New Republic pilot. We know she’s a former Rebel shocktrooper, but she’s also a former Alderaan citizen. We can see the pain in her facial expressions during the conversation. I hope we learn more about her past, as she’s a really interesting character with the potential to have an awesome character arc.

Also, this guy being back was good comedy relief with Mando.

Score: 9.1/10. The best episode of the season for sure. It set up future events really well, while also continuing an episode adventure with great characters and fun action.
